Atlanta Yoga Studios

Like in any major metropolitan city, there are a lot of choices in Atlanta when it comes to yoga studios. I was going to call this post, “Atlanta’s Best Yoga Studios,” but I haven’t been to every single one. And who am I to judge which are the best? I will say, these are my favorites and where I personally practice. In fact, I love them so much, I teach at 3 of the 4! And no, that doesn’t make me bias. With each studio, I was a student first. I just got lucky that I now also get to sit in the seat of teacher.

Let’s start at the beginning of my yoga journey…

Springs Yoga

Springs is where I fell in love with yoga. Like most of the studios on this list, Springs focuses on alignment based yoga. There are classes for multiple levels and each teacher has something unique to bring. Many of the teachers have backgrounds in the medical field – chiropractic, physical therapy, and nursing. If you have any injuries or agitations, you are going to be well taken care of. You can find me there Sunday’s at 4pm for All Levels or Tuesday’s at 7:15pm for Gentle/Restorative, but all of the offerings are great.

Yoga Collective

While my studentship started at Springs, my teaching journey started at Yoga Collective. While physically a smaller studio, the community makes up for it in vibrancy. I did my 200 Hour Training with Gina, and now all these years later, I can find her taking my class (no one is more shocked than I am). Yoga Collective is a strong alignment studio, with a wide variety of levels. There’s Restorative and Therapeutic Alignment if you want a slower pace, and a 2 hour Advanced Practice class for those that dare. There is something for everyone. In just about every class, there will be plenty of props, for better or worse. Do you know how much you can torture someone with a yoga blanket? Come to class to find out! Yoga Collective also offers a lot of potent workshops. I’m there Thursdays at Noon for All Levels, and Friday’s at 8:30am for Basics and 10am All Levels. But stay tuned for a few things in the works 🙂

Form Yoga

I recently started teaching at Form and I am thrilled to be there. Form Yoga (pictured at the top) is a gorgeous space full of warm, loving people. While the alignment is still there, many of the classes are vinyasa based. This leads to creative sequences that are sure to keep you on your toes (literally). If sweaty, fast paced classes aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other classes to choose from, like Stretch it Out and Recharge & Restore. All of the classes have fun names, including the array of workshops and special events that are offered monthly. Who wants to go to my friend Heather’s Balls to the Wall with me in August?? Practice with me Wednesday’s at Noon for Happy Hour and Sunday’s at 11:30am for Easy Like Sunday Morning.

Tough Love Yoga

While I don’t teach at Tough Love, you might see some of the same teachers from the other studios. Tough Love Yoga is an “affordable, accessible, alignment-based studio.” Another beautiful space with sky lights and a hand painted mandala, this studio has 2 rooms which allows them to have a jam backed schedule. Find a class at any time that works for you. They are one of the few local studios that offers yogahour classes, combining flow and form. I also love how involved they are with charity. There’s 1 class every week on the schedule that supports a local non-profit, but they often offer a special class after nationwide disasters. Tough Love has a special place in my heart because they host some amazing traveling teachers, including my teacher Noah.

Location: Candler Park, Dekalb Ave NE & Mell Ave NE
