2017 is almost over and I finally finished my reading goal for the year. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know if I was going to make it this time. I knew this year was going to be busy with my training, so my goal was only 40 books. Though my number was lower than usual, the quality was high. My book choices deeply reflect where I was this year. I had a rough start, which resulted in starting therapy. After learning more about myself and how my brain works, I spent a lot of time…
Merry Christmas! My gift to you this year is a new, free, yoga class on my channel! The holiday season is a busy time, no matter what you celebrate. We run around shopping, cooking, going to parties and events. We are pulled in a million different directions. During the mayhem, we get stressed, tired, and often forget to take care of ourselves too. Stop and give yourself 25 minutes of yoga for connection.
At the end of November, I asked Instagram if anyone would be interested in a meditation challenge in 2018. The resounding answer was YES. I am so excited to launch the 30 Day Meditation Challenge! My main goal with this challenge is to help you (and myself) begin, or restart, a consistent meditation practice, while also having the opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals. Let’s start conversations about meditation.
The time has finally come – my first bullet journal is full. I started my journal back in April, about halfway through the month. And by the end of November, I was out of space. I didn’t jump right into a new journal, though. I took about a week to make the transition. Even now, my new one isn’t 100% set up, but it’s almost there. I love journaling and find it helpful for a multitude of reasons …
I always put a lot of thought into gift giving. I love sitting back and taking the time to really think about each individual person in my life – what are they like? What’s going on in their life right now? What do they need, or what’s something they’ve really been wanting? I like to make it personal too. What is something only I would think to get them? What defines our relationship? This year, I’m less interested in materialistic gifts that “so-and-so” might not even use.
As I’ve been incessantly going on and on about, the holiday season is fast approaching. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and from there, it’ll be the end of the year before we know it. With this time of year comes holiday parties, celebrations, brunches, and then New Years Eve, all of which alcohol can be a big part of. Let me go ahead and say it up front – I rarely drink alcohol. If I do, it’s usually for a special occasion or on vacation, and even then it’s one and done.
Temperatures are starting to drop, and it’s getting harder to get out of a toasty bed on a Sunday morning. Honestly, the thought of pancakes were the only thing to get me up and at it this morning! As we move into winter, to stay warm we have to build our own heat, ignite our internal fire. This month’s free yoga class, that is now on my channel, will help you do just that, with a heat-building flow practice. This is a slower flow, so it’s perfect for a variety of levels.
The weather has been very unpredictable lately. One day it feels like Fall, the next it feels like Winter has come early, but then a couple days later it goes back to the autumnal warmth. I’ve been thinking and speaking about transition lately, and it now feels like we’re in the thick of it. What season is it? Do I need a sweater or a coat? Are my energy levels high or low? Do I feel like staying bundled up inside under a blanket or frolicking amongst the fallen leaves? Each day feels so different and I have to reevaluate where I stand.
