As a creative entrepreneur (I guess I’m one?), I’ve heard a lot of opposing advice. On podcasts and in articles, a fair amount of people suggest putting your hands in a lot of pies. However, others say pick one thing and put all of your energy into it. Meanwhile I’m sitting over here wondering where’s the happy medium? Why does it have to be one way or the other? How can I have both? Here’s how: setting priorities.
There is something about Spring that brings out the worst in my mental health. For many, it’s because of allergies that leave you with a foggy head. Just the other day CNN posted an article about the relationship between allergies and depression. However, for me, it’s the sight of seeing everything around me grow that leaves me feeling like I’m the only one who isn’t progressing.
This past weekend I went away to NYC to visit a dear college friend. I left Friday and returned Monday so I knew I wanted to only pack a carry-on bag. And then I realized I don’t think I’ve ever packed carry-on only. I got a little anxious just thinking about the liquids. Late at night, I was laying in bed 5 days before I left going through my mental list of what I needed to bring.
Days later, I am still riding high off this weekend’s Full Beaver Moon in Taurus and a full moon yoga class at Tough Love Yoga. Therefore, I am back with another Lesson from the Moon! This lesson is all about transition. I think it’s safe to say a lot, if not most, people don’t like change. We feel comfortable when we feel settled. I know I thrive on all levels – mental health, productivity, and general well being – when I have my routine down.
